After winning their first Allan Cup in 1957, the Dunlopsearned them the right to represent Canada at the the 1958 World Hockey Championships i
n Oslo, Norway
, and won the Championship.
Notable members of the team were
former Toronto Maple Leafs
captain Sid Smith
and former Boston Bruin

Harry Sinden, captain of the 1958 Dunlops. Smith was a playing coach.
To get to Oslo, the Dunlops took a ship across the Atlantic because team manager Wren Blair was afraid of flying. Pplayers were sick for days because of rough waters but played a 14-game exhibition tour of Europe before the World Championships.
Canada had lost at the 1956 Olympics and boycotted the 1957
World Hockey Championships
because the Soviets had invaded Hungary.
