Pinehurst is located in Pinehurst NC and is ranked as one of the Golf world's greatest courses. It features a unique routing by Donald Ross who noted that this was his masterpiece ..and a true test of golf in every aspect!
Pinehurst blends visual harmony with a balanced array of hazzards, mounds guarding greens, wire grass and pine needles waiting off the fairways and greens falling away on all sides. As Sam Snead put it after one of the famous North and South Opens, "you've got to hit every shot on Number 2".
the US Open was held here in 2005 and a slight few were close to par- Including the winner Michael Campbell. Now they will get their hands even dirtier with the restoration of large waste areas etc. in 2014
It has been and is still the sight of the North-South Amateur Championship and for years the
North- South Open.
