    Description

Up for sale is a really cool poster done for the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami in 1992. The photograph itself was taken by the famous German fashion photographer Claus Wickrath with the fashion statement itself having been designed by the famous French fashion designer and photographer Thierry Mugler. You will immediately notice that the high heels themselves are actually scuba diving fins in the front. Other than fashion photography, Claus is known for his motto “I don’t think. I feel.” Claus was also known for working with the likes of
L'Uomo Vogue, Spanish Vogue, Harpers & Queen, Italian Vogue, Glamour, Self, GQ, British Esquire, Men's Journal, Brides, Anna, House and Garden, Stern, Nautica, Sulka, Polo/Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, Canali, Burberry, Austin Reed, Fiat, and Gillette.
Thierry Mugler is a major fashion icon himself. Early on Thierry began designing for numerous fashion houses in Paris, Milan, London, and Barcelona. He has designed clothing for the elite of the elite all over the world and has his own well known “Mugler” line of clothing and perfume fragrances.
Note that there is a discrepancy in the poster itself. While the main portion of the poster has the event listed  as occurring in 1992, the opening reception event listed below that states 1993. I don’t know if this was ever corrected prior to the event, but if so it further increases the uniqueness of the piece. Since Claus passed away from a heart attack back in 2013 this obviously also increases the rarity of this poster even more. I actually have two of these posters which were both acquired directly from the estate of the printer. Each poster is 27-1/2” tall X 19-1/2” wide.
The posters are currently not framed with both being in great shape with no holes or tears. They would of course benefit from being mounted on backing board as well as being matted and framed. The first image in the listing shows what this might look like once done. Don’t miss your chance to own a really cool and unique piece of fashion history from two of the most famous fashion photographers and fashion designers.
The sale price listed is for ONE of the posters. If you are interested in BOTH posters adjust the quantity accordingly and receive a 10% discount off of each poster.
