    Description

    Is there any doubt that this man was born during or more likely before the American Revolutionary War (1875 - 1883)? Consider that this daguerreotype was made about 1850.
    The man has seen a lot and exudes experience and character. The wrinkles in his face tell many stories.
    SIZE. Sixth plate.
    HOUSING. Half case.
    CONDITION. Bad glass replaced with hand-cut, high-quality, low-iron glass by my son. Resealed. Horizontal buff marks. Tarnish mostly at bottom and at sides from 2:30 to 8:00.
    APPEARANCE. Although the jacket blends in with the dark background, his head and shirt display very good contrast. In fact, he jumps out!
