    Description

    Please be aware that this is a ninth plate. The image is 2 1/2 x 2 inches.
    The woman was undoubtedly born in the 1700s. She faces to our left where there’s a hand painted drape behind her. She holds something with three circles. I suspect it’s her spectacles (glasses) and that her hand moved causing the third circle.
    SIZE. Ninth plate.
    HOUSING. Full leather case with slightly convex front and back (English style).
    CONDITION. We have not removed the image from the case. Lower right has three circular tarnish spots. A couple of light brown spots on her shawl. Heavy horizontal buff marks.
    APPEARANCE. Woman is slightly soft. Very good contrast. Interesting pose. Bright image.
