1924 Hamilton "Electric Railway Special" pocket watch. Runs accurately.

Description

1924 Hamilton Electric Railway Special. Hamilton Watch Co. 16 size, 17 jewel, open face, lever set, 974 grade, pocket watch with a "Hamilton Electric Railway Special" marked dial. It would have been intended for electric railway (trolley/ street car) time service but isn't railroad certified. It has been recently serviced (in April) winds smoothly and sets easily with an observed accuracy of approximately 2 min. fast/per week over about a 3 month period however I cannot guarantee continued accuracy due to shipping/handling. There is a small touch up on the second hand register where the second hand shaft enters otherwise the dial is in excellent condition. The hands are perfect as well. The movement SN: 1680662 puts the date of manufacture at 1924 The movement is clean. It is housed in a Keystone base metal case with a dust cover. There are no dents in the rear cover. Both front and rear covers thread off/on easily and the bow is tight. Overall, it is a nice example of what seems to be a fairly uncommon series from Hamilton.
