    1/6 PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE OF ID'd GIRL WITH BOOK, WRITING ON EDGE, FULL CASE.
    This 1/6 plate daguerreotype is of a young girl identified as "My dear mother Hannah Kanj Fiegl [?], taken in Pennsylvania." There are scattered, very light scratches. Something is written on the edge of the book, perhaps the name of the photographer? It is in a full case.

    NOTE: I was contacted today by a fellow eBayer who told me that he had seen this image for sale in a large lot in February of 2021. It was described as a collection of images of the Fiege/Kaup families of Tiffin, Ohio. When he saw a photo of this little girl the image was in a similar but different case. I only purchased this one image from the collection and have no idea why the case was changed. The slip of paper with identification dated 1955 was with the image when first seen some 5 months earlier. It is being offered as found by me in its present case. Richard, richstars
